Appointments, estimates, payment, and what happens out of hours.
Appointments
Consultations are fifteen minutes. If more than one animal is coming, or the problem is complicated, book a double and tell us why when you book.
Missed appointments without notice may be charged. Tell us and we will not.
Estimates
Anything beyond a consultation is estimated in writing first. An estimate is not a fixed quotation, because an animal is not a car, but if the cost is going to exceed it we stop and telephone you before continuing.
Payment
Payment is due when your animal is discharged. We will talk about cost before treatment rather than after it, and if money is a problem, say so early — there are usually more options at the start than at the end.
Insurance
We will complete claim forms and can arrange direct claims for larger amounts at our discretion. The bill remains yours if the insurer declines.
Out of hours
Outside opening hours the number redirects to a dedicated emergency service. They are a separate business and set their own fees.
Prescriptions
Repeat prescriptions need a check-up at the interval your vet sets. We will write a prescription for you to dispense elsewhere if you ask; there is a fee for writing it.
