About the practice
A four-vet practice that has stayed the same size on purpose.
Big enough to have an X-ray and a laboratory on site. Small enough that the person who saw your animal last time is the one who sees them next.
The practice opened in 2008 in what had been a bakery, which is why the consulting rooms are an odd shape and the floor slopes towards the back.
We have deliberately not grown. Four vets, six nurses, and a list we close when it gets long enough that continuity starts to suffer. It costs us money and it is the single thing clients mention most often when they say why they stay.
Diagnostics are done here rather than sent away, which usually means results the same day rather than the same week. What we cannot do here we refer, and we will tell you what a referral is likely to cost before you agree to it.
Prices are on the website because we would rather you knew before you walked in. If money is the reason you are hesitating about bringing an animal in, say so when you telephone.

How we work
Four things we have decided in advance, so you do not have to ask.
An estimate before, not an invoice after
Anything beyond a consultation gets a written estimate first. If the work changes halfway through, we stop and telephone you.
The same vet where we can
Continuity is clinically better and it is also why people stay. We will always try to book you with whoever saw your animal last.
We say when we do not know
Referral is not a failure. We will tell you when something is outside what we can do properly here, and roughly what it will cost.
End of life is not rushed
We book a long appointment, at a quiet time of day, and we do home visits for it. Ask and we will explain exactly what happens.
